It was during the times of Don't Ask, Don't Tell - a discriminatory policy keeping LGBTQ+ from serving their country. It officially ended on September 20, 2011. 

Dan's a cutie from my past. When I think of Dan, I think of Spider-Man and cookies. Obsessed is not strong enough a word to describe his fascination with the Marvel character. Dan helped me bake cookies for my very first holiday cookie party. They were pumpkin flavored with cream cheese frosting.
